Fans attending Sam Fender's upcoming stadium tour will pay less for standing entry at Wembley Stadium than initially listed. The 32 year old musician reduced the top tier standing price from 130.75 pounds to 98.85 pounds following online criticism. He made the change on Instagram this week, noting that the original figures exceeded his intended costs.

The pricing adjustment applies to the Proper Massive tour, which is scheduled to take place across the summer of 2027. General sales begin this Friday, with a presale starting Wednesday morning. The tour includes stops at major venues such as St James’s Park in Newcastle, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Marley Park in Dublin, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

The initial backlash began when Instagram user Gavin Davis shared screenshots of the Wembley ticket options. The listing showed a 31.90 pound difference between front standing and standard standing tickets. Seated prices ranged from 64.75 pounds to 130.75 pounds. Fender replied to the post, stating he was not happy with the inflated figures. He explained that price increases should only cover actual staging expenses rather than creating extra profit margins for ticketing partners.

Fender also removed the distinction between front and back standing areas. He described the tiered system as bollocks and confirmed it would not appear in his tour structure. He expressed confusion over how such a division became a standard practice in live music. Other tour dates also showed high prices, with standing tickets exceeding 100 pounds in several cities. The highest prices were in Edinburgh at 120.95 pounds, Manchester at 119.60 pounds, Cardiff at 119 pounds, and Newcastle at 112.90 pounds.

The singer is part of a wider trend of artists addressing ticket costs. Swedish pop star Zara Larsson shared similar sentiments in August via TikTok. She acknowledged that fans found her Bangkok show tickets expensive and said she wanted more involvement in the pricing process. Larsson noted that financial barriers deterred many people from attending her concerts.

Fender also announced that a fourth studio album is currently in production. He has not revealed the title or cover art for the new record. The project follows the release of People Watching, his 2025 album, which won the Mercury Prize. The album helped solidify his status as a leading figure in contemporary music.

His recent commercial success includes the collaboration with Olivia Dean on the duet Rein Me In. The song won the 2026 Brit award for song of the year. It spent 23 weeks at number one on the singles chart, making it the longest running number one single in British history. Fender has won five Brit awards throughout his career and is known for hits like Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under.
