Speeds above 400 km/h now define the state of Ukraine’s satellite connections. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that both Starlink and Starshield networks are operating at full capacity with stable signals. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the restrictions were lifted by the morning of October 24, ending a period of reduced performance for frontline units.

Zelenskyy addressed the public in a video, thanking those who helped restore communications. "Starlink and Starshield are back to operating at the speeds they were capable of before these restrictions were imposed. Now we have the speed we need," he said. The recovery began overnight, reaching the levels required for military logistics by daybreak.

This restoration directly impacts Ukraine’s ability to defend against jet-powered Shahed drones. The president noted that the previous slowdown interfered with operations and limited drone usage in several sectors. Before the official confirmation, defense experts had already recorded speeds exceeding 161 km/h, a figure that marked the initial return of functionality after the disruption.

The slowdown had caused friction at the political level. On October 16, US President Donald Trump claimed the White House was not involved in limiting Ukraine's access to the system. Meanwhile, The Telegraph reported that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk had suggested to Trump that the bandwidth for Ukrainian military networks should be restricted.

The military now relies on the restored 400 km/h speeds to maintain logistics and air defense. The Ministry of Defence continues to monitor the stability of the connection across the line of contact.
